Lighthouse Massiv

Mastercard sponsors two Lighthouse MASSIV sessions each year. Mastercard brings in partner banks and advisors to increase the value of the program to startups.

Mastercard wants to do well by doing good. This happens when the company advances sustainable, equitable economic growth and financial inclusion around the world. Mastercard Nordics & Baltics has plans to play a leading role in the firm’s global inclusion and sustainability strategy

Application

Yes. The Lighthouse MASSIV advisory board consists of investors and experts from a wide variety of backgrounds, and is excited to work with with any company focused on making the world more prosperous and secure for all. Mastercard also has a long history of working outside financial services. Startups that are based in the Nordics or Baltics and that can join us in Stockholm for the in-person program workshops. We are mostly looking for startups that want to expand globally and are ready to scale.

We are looking for established companies with market fit, either Seed stage or Series A.

The Lighthouse team will contact you after the application deadline, for the spring programs this is in February, for the fall program this is in August. We will review all the applications and announce the participants through an official press release.

Program

Lighthouse MASSIV takes place twice a year. The spring edition runs from March to June and the fall edition runs from September to December. The program consists of three workshop days (in-person and hybrid) with continuous, remote support. Most companies will dedicate four total days of participation over the four months of the program. Three finalists companies will be invited to a large industry event, and the program winner will receive ongoing support from Mastercard and Lighthouse.

To achieve lasting impact, Lighthouse will provide continued accountability and support by leveraging the power of partnerships, including access to community,  accountability and other resources – such as ongoing PR opportunities, mentorship, meet-up, networking and alumni support. In addition, startups will receive ongoing opportunities such as pitching at one of Mastercard Global programs.

Yes, the winner will be the company that demonstrates the biggest partnership potential and the potential to positively impact the most people with its solution. 

No, Lighthouse is completely free of charge to the participating companies. While advisors and other professional investors attend the workshops, startups are never obligated to accept funding or dilute their equity position.
